MORE FLOWERS!

I went for a walk yesterday and photographed some nice flowers.

Calla lilies are my mom’s favorite flowers and we had some in the yard when I was growing up. We used to put the creamy pollen on our hands like lotion. I know they symbolize death, but I think they’re so beautiful. The ones pictured were photographed outside a house near Downtown Arcata.

I’ve always liked irises. These ones are in the Plaza in Downtown Arcata. We have some that pop up near the creek every year at my boyfriend’s house in Ukiah. If you didn’t know, I’m originally from Redwood Valley, Mendocino County, but I currently live in Arcata while I’m going to Cal Poly Humboldt.

The little blue flowers I’ve been noticing every day for a week on my way from my dorm to class and I’ve been wanting to take a nice picture of them. The nice thing about my new Sony a7iv is that I can crop way in on photos without sacrificing any image quality. This photo was taken on a wide lens (20mm 2.8) but with the crop edit it looks like it was taken on a zoom lens.

I love these three photos and they were so fun to photograph and edit. I also took some clips, so a video is on its way!
